Silvia Pencak is passionate about making a difference. She personally experienced the power of help on numerous occasions. Strangers who care enough to make your day brighter and better, people who plant seeds in the lives of others without knowing whether they will grow…
During my University years I didn’t have much money, but I volunteered my time and little wisdom I had back then to help multiple causes – I worked with prisoners, youth, children, addicts and even traveled to other countries to help.
Back in 2002 I opened my own non-profit organization to support youth and families in post-communist Eastern Slovakia. Over the years JONA grew into one of the largest and most beloved organizations in local community, servicing hundreds of families in the area on a daily basis. My goal is to purchase a building for their work in 2016 to lower their operational costs and help them focus on their work with local community.

JONA celebrated 15 years and its Mothers’ Centre 12 years in 2017. Picture is from Christmas Party 2015.

Since then, Silvia worked with many teams of various sizes and backgrounds, helping them to successfully run projects, causes and events. Her focus on improving people and projects makes her a beloved member of teams she works with.
Silvia supports multiple groups and organizations in Ontario. Even though she speaks at not-for-profit events and conferences, Silvia’s favorite way to help organizations is by training leadership and volunteer teams to help them overcome change, transition and diversity.
Silvia also runs her monthly Meetup group for local small business owners helping them navigate through constantly changing social media and online marketing.
